Implants
Implants are increasingly used in treating patients with dental gaps. The implant therapy has proven itself as a stable, functioning, and long-term successful measure providing a high degree of convenience for the patients.
Implants replace missing teeth – either a single tooth or several teeth at a time. Implants may also be used to support extensive prostheses, both firm (pontics) and removable (dentures), if the patient does no longer have a sufficient number of his or her own teeth.
During a surgical procedure, usually under local anaesthesia, an implant gets grafted into the jawbone like a kind of “artificial root”. This is called an enossal implant (enossal = placed into the bone). During a subsequent treatment, the supra-construction (i.e. the artificial teeth visible in the mouth) is attached to the implant. As implant material, titanium has proven its worth in terms of bio-compatibility and resilience. Corresponding to your respective individual situation and the desired function, we will select the number and type of implants together.
